In May of 2007, Gene Colan created this artwork for the poem, "Plough and Stars". Against a backdrop
of a winter snowstorm, the warmth of love makes a couple impervious to the cold, feeling only the joy of
being with one another.
Here at the end of 2009, Gene has many health issues, and the financial issues that come with them. To
help out, 100 prints of this beautiful artwork have been made, and all profits from their sale will be
donated to Gene and Adrienne Colan. The artwork has been subtly inked and colored by Dave Gutierrez
in soft twilight tones, highlighted with gentle spills of light from windows and passing "el" train.
"Plough and Stars" has never before been offered for sale in any form. After the 100 numbered prints
are sold, it will never be offered again. It is an 8.5" x 11" full color print, on archival quality 100# matte
card stock, suitable for framing. The cost per print is $5 plus $5 postage and handling.
